Foolish Haste

Traveling through the forest I notice not a tree,
upon the beach I run yet do not hear the sea.

I rush across the valley, stop not to taste the fruit,
Nor to smell the blossoms nestled near my boot.

No time to greet the stranger coming around the bend,
I scurry onward down the trail thinking only of its end.

My frantic search continues seeking where my fortunes lie,
I race to distant mountains that reach to touch the sky.

Soon upon arrival at this crown I thought so high,
I spy another lofty peak and to it I must now fly.

Weakened by my years I crawl this final slope,
sure that my reward will be all that I have hoped.

Peering from the summit the sight sets soul to race,
for nothing lay before me that was not in my trace.

To mind comes this one quest and puzzle to my face,
how much life did I not taste because of foolish haste?

Count the Yawns

The worth of a sermon is not set by filled pews, but, by the counting of yawns.

A boy can father a child, it takes a man to be a father.

One Hurgry Man

A thousand prayers and a ton of faith will not fill the belly of one hungry man, exertion and tenacity will feed the throngs.

The marriage of Wish and Dream.

A young couple named Wish and Dream had a child they named Faith. This hurried union became disappointing for both Wish and Dream and they quickly divorced.
Wish soon died of a broken heart. Dream spent the rest of her days searching for the perfect mate which she was never able to find.
Their little daughter Faith was raised by her grandfather Work and each lived long and productive lives.

Moral; Faith gives purpose, Work makes it happen. If you do no more than Wish and Dream expect disappointment.

Gift = Failure?

An unearned gift, rather than being a boost up the ladder of success is often the first step toward failure.

Is it Ketchup or Catsup?

Have you ever ordered French fries just so it wont look strange when you eat a whole bottle of that delicious red stuffffff?

MATTHEW 5:5

The meek will never inherit a damn thing, what the democrats don’t give to the lazy the republicans will either steal or squander. Anything that remains Obama will take with him when he goes to claim his 72 heavenly virgins.
