The selfish few

From the shelter of their podium, their pulpit, and their privilege, these exclusive few remain in safety while sending the youth and the ill-informed off to do battle for the benefit of only the selfish few.

Hi-Heel Shoes

For hundreds of years one of man’s greatest visual pleasures has been derived from the invention of ladies hi-heel shoes.
A procedure that would enhance the opposite end of man would make ladies life more pleasurable.

*Luke 6:31

Looking back at the history of mankind and witnessing the present nonsense of war and other corrupt acts that men have imposed against one another in the name of religion, I choose not to be associated with the hypocrisy of those who feign strong religious and moral beliefs yet practice thievery, deceit, murder, greed and terror. It is beyond my understanding why anyone would want to associate themselves with a religion, or worship a god who would allow or condone such actions.

In my opinion, religion does a great disservice to its followers by not devoting more effort teaching how to achieve happiness and contentment in this life, rather than how perfect the next life may be.  Our life on this earth is real and should be lived to the utmost.  Life in another dimension is unsure and questionable.

I do see much good in the world; however, I feel that it is accomplished by common, decent individuals rather than by any organized religion. I feel that each of us make our journey on this earth our own personal heaven or hell. The manner in which we live and the way we treat or mistreat others determines the quality of our journey.

In a very confusing book I read the following statement,
*“Do to others as you would have them do to you“. (niv)
It was one of the very few things in this book that I fully understand and have tried to practice.

I believe in the assumption that there was at one time in history a very charismatic person named Jesus. To an unsophisticated audience he was able to perform remarkable feats, not unlike our modern day illusionists. I do have doubts that an imperceptible god or super being created our universe and all inhabitants. I also find it difficult to understand if there is a loving god why would he or she allow our lives to be plagued with hunger, cancers and lawyers?

When I ask about this phantom savior, my questions go unanswered except for these meaningless statements, “you must have faith” and “he works in mysterious ways”. Neither statement is an answer and only increases my doubts and brings to mind more questions.

I know and respect many good persons who truly believe, I also see many hypocrites who pretend to believe, these pretenders-hypocrites seem to get along in life just as well as those who truly believe. From the moment that man started walking upright he has felt the need to believe in the supernatural and willingly professes faith in that which has little logic and can neither be proved or disproved.

Why does man who is presumed the most intelligent of all animals feel an uncontrollable need to reach for something that may or may not exist, also, why should any thinking human be expected to believe in a teaching that requires blind faith and little facts?
Blind, being the inability or unwillingness to discern or judge a situation, faith being a firm belief in something without proof or logic. Heaven will be sparsely populated if it doesn’t accept hypocrites and those with questions and doubts.

Having peace-of-mind and satisfaction with the way I live my life on this earth, I have little concern for another life that may or may not be. I cannot believe that if there is a righteous god he would condemn me for refusing to profess belief in what I do not fully understand and for not having blind faith in what I consider against reasoning. A righteous god surely would not admit a pretentious hypocrite into his heaven while allowing a person with questions be held hostage in hell.
If I am wrong in my thinking and my questions unreasonable, I have harmed no one but myself.

A hypocrite, I am not.

Our world holds Believers, Pretenders, and Skeptics.
Being true to my name, I must side with the latter.          Doubting Thomas

Pissed off at politicians?

An optimist sees a political candidate as he hopes he will be.
The pessimist sees a candidate as he thinks he will be.
After the election the optimist is disappointed, he was wrong.
The pessimist is also disappointed, he was right.
Involved in politics? Get used to being disappointed.

The Elephant and the Jackass

Our forefathers made a very fitting choice when they selected the Elephant and the Jackass to symbolize our two political parties.
The Elephant is large enough to be unmanageable, yet it allows people of small stature and wit to control it’s every move.
The Jackass though smaller in size is obstinate by nature and overly vocal, it too permits those with questionable intellect be its leader.
Though seemingly different they are the same, both emit a foul smell.

Where is justice?

Regardless for truth, prosecutors strive to condemn.
Unconscionable defenders, contrive to absolve.
Justice lies midst truth and trickery.

Criticism

Criticism is the arsenic of a relationship, it accumulates and eventually destroys.

TV programming

March 22, 2009; I began a study of TV programming and how it affects the intellect of viewers over a six month period. I have faithfully watched a variety of popular programs at least four hours each day and feel that I am a near average viewer.

Septembur 22, 2009; I am happie to rapport that my resurch proves that todays TV programing is not detrimetel to anybodies charactur, principals or intellek, and if you ever want to sue someone or get on welfare, TV is the best way to find a slimy lawyer.

Think Your Life Sucks?

Some day when you feel you haven’t made much of your life and think that life in general sucks do what I do, turn on the TV and watch the Jerry Springer show.
After watching about 3.5 minutes of wrestling between a fat Paris Hilton and a real life Larry the Cable Guy I feel a whole lot better about myself and my life in general.
If you still think your life sucks after watching Jerry’s 4 ring circus and fool show, you might just be a good candidate for his next show.       Call 1-800-YOU-MORON

Self Portrait

We each paint a self-portrait not with brush and rich hues,
But, from our palette of words, our deeds and paying of dues.

The Perfect A_ _

Should we assume that those who demand perfection in others have themselves reached that level?

There are no equals

In the human race there are no equals, as each persons thumb print is unique all humans are unique with varying degrees of intelligence, morality, ambition, and the ability and desire to judge right from wrong. A society that succeeds in forcing total equality on its population is soon reduced to mediocrity and eventual total collapse. Equality is a state that must be earned it cannot be achieved by taking from the diligent and giving to the delinquent.
